Violin Online String Sampler CD-ROM is a fun and easy way to actively learn, study and play beautiful violin music from a wide variety of styles and eras. Created for a Windows PC-compatible home computer (Windows Vista / 98 / 2000 / Me / XP), this CD-ROM requires no download or installation, and is designed like an interactive website. Full access to the contents of Violin Online String Sampler is provided, including all 54 print & play violin pieces with accompanying mp3 music. These arrangements have been simplified for advanced beginners to intermediate players (all of the music is in 1st position), and feature a representative sampling of most major forms of string music such as concertos, symphonies, sonatas, quartets and trios. Also included are the following sections:
STUDY UNITS: Explore the history, style and musical form of the 54 featured pieces representing styles and cultures such as Medieval, Renaissance, Baroque, Classical, Romantic, 20th Century, Fiddle, Klezmer, Gypsy, Chinese, Greek, Carnatic, Arabic, Mariachi, Ragtime and Blues. Violin technique tips are included for each piece, and a music glossary and bowing chart are provided to explain additional concepts.
LISTENING ROOM:Listen to mp3 sound files of the 54 featured pieces, and print violin sheet music on your own computer with the included jpeg files (to print sheet music from the CD-ROM, use the file/print preview function in the upper left corner of jpeg sheet music images. Printing sheet music requires that your computer is connected to a printer).
VIOLIN & MUSIC BASICS: Content from Violinonline.com™ has been included to enable you to review the fundamentals of violin playing, fingering, technique tips, and music theory basics, and play along with our scales and etudes.
Please note this interactive instructional data CD-ROM is not a video or an audio CD. It is designed for a Windows PC-compatible computer (Windows Vista / 98 / 2000 / Me / XP), and requires no installation or download (no Mac version is currently available). To use, insert the CD-ROM in your CD/DVD drive, browse to the CD/DVD drive the CD-ROM is located in, and double click on the Violin Online String Sampler “VOSS.exe” icon. The application should begin in a matter of moments. On some computers, AutoRun will cause the application to automatically begin when the CD-ROM is inserted in your CD/DVD drive.
